Every year in cities all over, homosexual men and women rejoice as the month of June enters into the calendar. It is during this time that they get to celebrate their victories in society and peacefully gather to recognize their equality. Most of the time, this is done by holding a parade or event that honors the culture. Some cities hold off their celebration until later on during the year but most of the time, it is during this month it is recognized. Thus, it is called Gay Pride Month!!
If you take a look at the picture to the left, read the words that it contains. “Somewhere over the rainbow, skies are blue, and the dreams that you, dare to dream really do come true.” These words mean more than they dictate. The way that I understand them is that there is a place that can exist where the dreams of all people, gay and straight, can be achieved in harmony for one another. Now, that sounds nice and all BUT as we all know, that’s not the case right now in America. The struggle for equality has never been so strong and the purpose is simply the fact that we want to be “created equal”. Being a gay man myself, I fully support the cause. However, I don’t think most know the severity of it all. I think the education of it as being a human rights issue instead of a sexuality thing is good. The sooner people can accept it as that, I think the cause will come to a close drawing with it a positive resolution for everyone involved. Just sayin.
However, back to the point, this month is nationally recognized in America as Gay Pride Month. I know I’m excited and am honored to have been Born This Way so that I express myself. I truly believe that I was meant to lead this life and nothing lead me to it. I am truly blessed to have the support of not only my family but also my friends, followers, readers and viewers. It feels so good to know that I am not alone and that I stand for something worth fighting for.
Ya know what!? Instead of typing all this out, how about y’all watch a video I made on the subject!? I think that will be easier.
Enjoy y’all!!
xoxo
